Wednesday Cafe: Lazy Summer Edition!

This week we’re caught in that nebulous state between “enjoying the warm and lazy days of summer” and “wishing the summer could be over soon pleeease it is too hot”. Subscribe to our newsletter to read all of our best summer salad tips, nostalgic movie recommendations, and interesting links from this week! Here are a few choice selections from this week’s issue.

  • What if [Movie Directors] Made [Food]? – This video series by David Ma probably isn’t going to teach you how to cook, but it is a delicious eyefeast of recipes filmed in the styles of famous directors. You know I want those Wes Anderson s’mores.

  • Lessons From a Victorian Era Cat Dictionary – Mieouw purrieu! Before there was Cat Fancy there was “Pussy and Her Language”, a book that will put you on the fast track to your crazy cat lady goals.

  • The Yellow [Oval Office] Wallpaper – My doctor told me to avoid reading political articles because of my “hysterical tendencies”, but the woman who’s always creeping around in my walls loves this modern spin on a classic feminist horror tale.

  • The Cat Maze – Like a modern-day Daedalus, this man constructed a DEADLY LABYRINTH to challenge his two cats. (Okay I am exaggerating but they probably would have enjoyed the magical ball of yarn.)

Check out the full issue to see all of our favorite links this week, plus other summertime diversions.
